Corrections policy

We publish salary ranges, visa thresholds, employer claims, and live job data. Some of it will go out of date, and some of it we will simply get wrong. This page explains exactly what happens next.

What counts as a correction

  • Factual error — an incorrect salary figure, visa threshold, employer name, deadline, or legal statement in a guide.
  • Stale data — a figure that was accurate at publication but has since been superseded (for example a national minimum-salary threshold that changed in a new tax year).
  • Listing error — a job that is expired, duplicated, misclassified as remote, or attributed to the wrong employer.
  • Employer dispute — a company believes our description of its hiring practice or verification status is inaccurate.

How we handle each type

Factual errors and stale data are fixed in place, and the guide's "last checked" date is updated. When the change materially alters the advice — a threshold moving, a programme closing, a recommendation reversing — we add a dated correction note at the foot of the article rather than editing silently.

Listing errors are handled by our ingestion pipeline first: every imported role carries an expiry date and is re-verified against its source feed. Reports that beat the pipeline are actioned manually — an expired or misclassified role is removed from search within one business day, and repeat offenders reduce the trust score of the source feed that supplied them.

Employer disputes are reviewed against the original posting we ingested. If the posting supports our description, we keep it and explain why. If it does not, we correct the profile and note the date. We do not remove accurate negative information because an employer asks us to, and we do not accept payment to alter a verification status.

Response times

  • Acknowledgement of any report: one business day.
  • Removal of a confirmed scam or fraudulent listing: same day, ahead of everything else.
  • Correction of a published guide: within five business days, sooner where the error could cost someone money.

How to report an error

Email editorial@remoteworkfinder.online with the page URL, the specific sentence or listing, and — if you have one — a source that supports the correction. You can also use the report control on any job page, or our contact form. Suspected scams should go through report a scam, which routes to moderation immediately.

What we will not do

We will not delete a page to make a complaint disappear, backdate a correction, or publish a paid retraction. Where a correction is contested and we cannot resolve it from source evidence, we publish both positions and say plainly that the point is disputed.
